Companies collaborate to establish lighting lab

In cooperation with electrical solutions company Magnet, lighting solutions provider Energywise Systems has established a specialist lighting service laboratory in Riverhorse Valley, Durban, which offers complete photometric, electric and thermal testing for light sources and luminaires. Energywise MD Andre Barausse says the lab is equipped with a full range of photometric equipment, including two goniometers, three spectrometers, a 2.4-m-diameter integrating sphere, a digitally controlled 1.2-m-wide thermal incubator oven – with 450 ℓ capacity for thermal endurance and efficiency tests – as well as a thermal imaging camera.
