DTI incentives encouraged Ford to up production in S Africa

South Africa’s Automotive Production and Development Programme (APDP) had boosted Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa’s (FMCSA’s) manufacturing competiveness, the vehicle manufacturer said on Tuesday. The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) had introduced the APDP for the period from 2012 to 2022, in January 2013, to replace the Motor Industry Development Programme.
