Global steel production rises 1.9% y/y in AugustBy:Creamer Media Contributing Editor Online STEEL World crude steel production for the 66 countries reporting to the World Steel Association rose 1.9% year-on-year to 134.1-million tonnes in August. China’s crude steel production for August was 68.6-million tonnes, an increase of 3%, while Japan’s production was up 1.5% to 8.9-million tonnes.
