Sibanye Gold's Beatrix mine in central South Africa remained shut on Monday, after a turf war between rival unions in which nine mineworkers were injured. Violence between majority union, the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM), and the Association of Mineworkers and Construction Union (AMCU), broke out on Thursday, raising concerns that it could spark fresh unrest ahead of wage talks in the gold sector later this year.
